International Islamic Law Graduate Symposium IX Program Announced
The Ninth International Islamic Law Graduate Studies Symposium, hosted by Istanbul University Faculty of Theology, Department of Islamic Law, with the collaboration of Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Istanbul Daru'l-Fünûn Ilahiyat Foundation, Ilim Yayma Foundation, and Ensar Foundation will be held in the Rectorate Blue Main Hall on October 26-27 and online on October 28.
The symposium will start with a panel titled "İslami Biyoetik: Dünü, Bugünü ve Geleceği" with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mürteza Bedir, Asst. Prof. Merve Özaykal and Asst. Prof. Maide Barış. On the first day, the symposium will be held in four sessions titled “Islamic Bioethics and Genetics”, “Bedene ve Cana Yönelik Müdahaleler”, “Üreme Teknolojileri ve Etik Kurullar” and “Biyofıkıh ve Helal Gıda”. On the second day Prof. Dr. Necmettin Kızılkaya's lecture titled "Fıkıh Tarihi Günümüz İçin Ne İfade Ediyor?" will be followed by four sessions titled “İnsan Hakları ve Hukuk Tarihi”, “İslami Finans”, “أصول الفقه”, "Fıkıh Usulü", "Islamic Finance and Ethics". On the third day two sessions (online) titled "Fiqh and Law-Policy Makers" ve "Şahıslar ve Meseleler" will be held and during these three days classical and modern problems of Islamic Law will be discussed.
