ISLAMIC LAW GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE

-VIII-

Istanbul University Faculty of Theology, Department of Islamic Law is organizing the 8th Islamic Law Graduate Student Conference. The conference will be held in Istanbul from October 28-29, 2022 with the sponsorship of the Istanbul Dar al-Funun Ilahiyat Foundation, Ilim Yayma Foundation and Ensar Foundation.

The Islamic Law Graduate Student Conference allows graduate students from all disciplines and institutions to present papers and receive critical feedback from an audience comprised of scholars in the field of Islamic law. The conference also aims to improve the interaction and integration between young Islamic law researchers and thus to lay the groundwork for increased knowledge-experience sharing and future collaborations in the field.

The conference is intended for PhD and advanced MA students and submissions dealing with contemporary issues, particularly the papers related to digitalization, artificial intelligence, halal food, economics, medical issues, environmental law, and newly emerged interpretive methods are given priority. All papers are expected to be original. For this reason, analytical papers with a specific focus and a solution rather than descriptive ones are most welcome. Abstracts should not exceed 350 words and submissions should be made via https://islamhukukusempozyumu.istanbul.edu.trPapers will be selected by an academic committee and will be announced prior to the conference. Announcement of Pre-Admissions: 15 July 2022

Full-Text Submission deadline: 30 September 2022

Announcement of Final Admissions and Conference Program: 8 October 2022

Conference Date: 28-29 October 2022

Note: To offer an opportunity for students from multiple destinations to attend this conference, both in-person and virtual presentations will be allowed.
